About the Author: Though Rebecca’s background is based in science, having studied Sports Therapy and worked with the young physically disabled, she has always had a very big imagination and love for faery folklore and nature. Her first children’s book, Bryony Fairview: Weather Witch, was published in 2020 and she caught the writing bug big time – starting the second book almost immediately! Ellie Juneman: Earth Witch (in training) covers the importance of being kind to the world around us and focuses on the power or our own words. Being a mother of two very active, magical children, she has a constant source of inspiration and loves to be able to share this journey with them. Join them in exploring her magical worlds!
About the Illustrator: After a lifetime of service, initially in the Defence Forces and then in the Civil Service, Chris discovered his creative side in retirement. His artwork had been displayed in several exhibitions before he turned to illustrating his first children’s book, Bryony Fairview: Weather Witch, and he was very happy to be able to illustrate the second in the series Ellie Juneman: Earth Witch (in training). He is a grandfather of six and has thoroughly enjoyed channelling the magic of his grandchildren into the illustrations for these books.
Ellie Juneman: Earth Witch (in training) is a Child’s Eye publication. Child’s Eye is the new home for children’s literature in the Redshank imprint of Libri Publishing. Designed to appeal to children and parents Child's Eye publishes quirky stories with an edge that deal with a variety of subjects from the child’s viewpoint. Scary, cruel, or just downright funny these stories invite the discerning reader to step into the weird and sometimes disconcerting world of a child’s imaginings. Child's Eye books can also address issues affecting children such as bullying, family difficulties and health and can provide the stimulus for valuable conversations.
An adventurous tale embedded with powerful themes. Ellie Juneman is a magical story that not only describes a girl’s journey to finding herself and her values, but also demonstrates to the reader how together – with our unique talents – we are stronger than one individual. As a team we have the power to put things right. An absolute feast for the imagination! – Bethan Christopher, Writer, Kids Coach and Author of Rebel Beauty for Teens
